Hey, fellow pet lovers!
Its been a while since I last posted but I can assure you that I haven’t been spending my time lazing about and I’ve been busy working on epoch.pet. I’ve updated the whole website, which is something I’d meant to do for a little while but didn’t have the time due to university.
Although there’s still a few tiny finishing touches to do and there will always be work to do on the site, I think it is looking a lot better than the original theme. In this post, I’ve added a little video to show what the blog used to look like for any new visitors or followers wanting a recap.
I hope you guys enjoy today’s post and as always, thanks for checking out epoch.pet and supporting our beautiful community. 🙏
Original Site
Above is a short screen video that I took before starting the site updates. I thought it would be nice to have a little reminder of what the blog looked like and also I wanted epoch.pet’s followers to be able to clearly see the changes. Below, I go into a lot more detail about what has been updated, and I’m pleased to say that I think the site is looking a lot smarter.

What’s changed?
- Updated Theme
The most apparent change to the site is the updated theme. Although the theme I’ve opted for, may not be the final one, it works for now and is somewhat similar to the previous theme in that it is clean and straightforward. I want to keep the site free from advertisements as I feel it makes sites look messy and cluttered, the only advertising I plan to do is via our affiliate store as I can control what I advertise.
- Updated About Page to Our Story
Originally, epoch.pet had an About page, which you can read by clicking on the link as I previously published it as a post knowing that one day I’d get round to updating the site. However, I’ve updated the whole site and decided to change the About page to Our Story.
Nothing on this page is the same apart from epoch.pet’s mission statement as I wanted to move away from the prime focus being on raw feeding. Raw feeding is still an essential aspect of epoch.pet, but I want to attract a wider audience of pet owners and promote a healthy lifestyle for all pets, not just those who choose to raw feed.
I’ve also updated what epoch.pet does on Our Story page to fit with this new rebrand. Below is a short list of what I hope to achieve for pet owners and lovers:
- Help pet parents give their pets the best life possible by creating free quality content
- Save pet owners time by honestly reviewing the best pet products on the market
- Strengthen the bond between pet owner and pet, resulting in more quality time spent together
- Create a community that shares one thing, never-ending love for our pets
- Promote responsible pet ownership
- Increase the lifespan of our pets by promoting a healthy lifestyle
- Updated Blog Home Page to a Static Home Page
epoch.pet used to have the homepage as the blog, so whenever you came on the site, you would be taken straight to the blog. However, I’ve decided to create a static homepage as I feel it better shares the story of what epoch.pet is all about for any new visitors coming to the site.
- Updated Blog Page to a separate page
As mentioned above, the sites home page is no longer the blog, and this means I’ve created a separate blog page which shows feature photos and is a great home for our helpful content.
- Created an Affiliate Store
Something I have wanted to do for a long time is to create an affiliate store. I’m pleased to say that pet parents have been using epoch.pet’s affiliate links which help me keep the blog up and running and purchase new pet products to review. I’ll only promote brands that I know and love like Tropiclean, Aniforte or KONG.
- Updated the Raw Feeding section
Ever since going live back in April 2018, epoch.pet has focused on raw feeding and the many benefits of starting your canine or feline friend on a raw diet. It’s been a long time coming, but I have finally got round to updating all the pages, and I hope that any pet owners wanting to start their pets on an all-natural diet will find our raw feeding section helpful.
There are four different pages:
- Raw Feeding which provides a general overview of what it is and the benefits of starting your pet on a raw diet
- Biologically Appropriate Raw Feeding, which provides an overview of the BARF method of raw feeding
- Prey Model Raw which provides an overview of the PMR method of raw feeding
- Lastly, Raw Feeding Percentages
- Added a Homemade Treats page
As well as updating the Raw Feeding section, I thought I’d add a Homemade treat section since we have a wide array of recipes on the blog. If you’ve never made homemade pet treats before then be sure to check out our new Homemade Treat page.Â

I hope you liked this simple informative post. I plan to do two articles a month and to get a back up before starting my second year of university, If you’d like to get in touch with any feedback on the blog then head over to our Contact Page as I’d love to hear your thoughts on the changes.
I hope you, your family and four-legged friends are safe and well. If you have us liked on Facebook, then I’d appreciate it if you could leave us a review on our page to help us grow our community.
Thankfully, in the UK, lockdown is starting to ease, which means more free time and summer sunshine.
