Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas for Dogs and Dog Lovers!

Hey, fellow pet lovers!

Some of might think I’m a bit crazy after reading the title of today’s post but most of you guys already know I’m a crazy dog mum and all my girls, even Pooss deserves an extra special day this Valentine’s. In today’s post, I plan on talking about what I, my girls and my partner are going to get up to this Valentine’s Day and also a few little gift ideas you could consider getting or making for your canine friend.

Let’s jump straight into today’s post!!

Valentine’s Day and our Pets ❤

It’s less than a week till Valentine’s Day 2019 and I’m curious to see how many people are getting their canine and feline friends a gift?? I know my girls are getting a little something but nothing extravagant, just a few new toys, a lovely walk along the coast and I’m planning on making them a little selection box of heart-shaped treats which is going to be my next post so stick around for that.

For Pooss she is getting an extra special tea, a new bag of catnip and a new little toy since she cannot have any of the treats I’m making or come on our lovely walk along the coast, not that she minds as she is more than happy to laze about all day while we’re all out of the flat.

I’ve never really been one to care all that much about Valentine’s day as I feel that putting so much emphasis on one day is a bit silly when we love our partners just the same each and every day of the year. However, some people love it and my partner, I and the girls are planning on having a nice and relaxing Valentine’s day this year.

So what do we have planned?

Fun at the beach!!

Well, to start the day off we are going to take the girls for a nice walk along The Leas which is where the Great North Dog Walk is held and then down to the beach for a run around off the lead since the girls love it!! After our lovely walk, the smelly girls will most likely be chucked in the bath as they will be covered in sand and mud, then they’ll get a little homemade protein shake with some added Kefia, to help support their good gut bacteria.

I actually have a homemade Goats Kefia recipe to post in the next week or two so if you enjoyed our previous post, The Benefits of Fermented Veggies for our Canine Friends you should like this one too. Once the girls have had their midday snack, they will most likely have a little nap and then get their tasty tea later on.

Finally, once the girls have all been fed its time to get onto making our lovely tea which is going to be homemade pizza which is extra tasty as I ferment the dough for six days, topped with slow-cooked shredded bbq beef short rib, I cannot wait!! Then to finish it all off we’re having a lovely sticky toffee pudding with double cream for dessert, no doubt the girls will be staring at us the whole time with their puppy dog eyes.

Mum can I have some, please???

After this, we will all hop in bed and stick something on the TV and have a lovely relaxing evening cuddled up with the girls, what more could I ask for? So that’s our plans this Valentine’s day and I hope you and your loved ones have a great day regardless of what you’re doing.

Valentine’s Day Gifts for your Pooch!! ❤

For those of you that are planning on treating your four-legged friend and want to get them a gift this Valentine’s day, I have put a few links to some great pet products that you may like and also a few homemade items that your pet will love just as much.

  • Homemade Paw Balm.

Something you could make for your pet which is pretty cheap is a batch of homemade paw balm, I have been using this on my girls weekly with the wet and harsh weather lately. If your pet suffers from dry paws and needs some paw balm to help soothe and protect their little feet, then why not make your own?

It’s really simple and takes very little effort, follow the link to my previous blog post if you would like to learn how to make this super easy paw balm for your pet, Homemade Paw Balm.

  • Homemade Treats.

If you’re a frequent visitor to epoch.pet then you will know I love to make my girls their own homemade treats and if you’ve never done this before then why don’t you give it a go this Valentine’s Day?

We have plenty of raw feeding friendly recipes to choose from and I have put a few links to some of my girl’s favourites which you can check out below.

The Squishy Face Flirt Pole is one of the best things we have ever got the girls and I really don’t think we could live without it now. We got Lily it for her birthday last November as Nia got a set of Puller Rings which, unfortunately, are no longer with us.

If you’re looking for a great pet product and don’t want to spend too much then this is a really good option, you can easily tire your pet out with little effort. My girl Lily seriously loves this simple yet highly effective pet product and if you have a pet who has a never-ending supply of energy like my girls, then this is definitely something you should consider getting for your four-legged friend.

What I love about the Squishy Face Flirt Pole?

  • The Squishy Face Flirt Pole is a perfect way to exercise your pet with little effort needed on your behalf.

The best thing about this product is the fact that all you have to do is swing the flirt pole around for your pooch to chase the lure which requires very little effort.

  • The Squishy Face Flirt Pole is super lightweight.

You don’t want to be carrying and moving around a heavy pole and the Squishy Face Flirt pole is super lightweight and perfect for taking to the park or on long adventures.

  • It’s relatively cheap.

We paid about £30 for our flirt pole and considering how much the girls love it and how great of a workout is, I really think this is a fair price.

  • Chuckit Ball Launcher and Ultra Balls.

IMG_20190204_143827_310.jpgSome of you might our latest post, Chuckit Ball Launcher and Ultra Ball, pet product review and these products are a great and fairly priced gift for your pooch this Valentine’s day. I’m not going to go into too much detail this was last Tuesday’s post but I definitely think it is a great gift if you have a canine companion who loves balls like my girl Lily does.

To order your pet a Chuckit Mini Ball launcher then simply follow the link and head to Amazon, Chuckit! 12 Ball Launcher for Dogs, Medium.

These balls have been great so far and I’m hoping with them being a little more expensive than Lily’s previous ones they are going to last way longer, but so far we’ve had them just over a month and I’m happy with that.

If you want to order your pet their very own pack of Chuckit Ultra Balls then simply follow the link and head to Amazon,  Chuckit Ultra Ball, Medium, Pack of 2.

  • Xdog Weight and Fitness Vest.

Above you can see my girl Lily rocking her Xdog Weight and Fitness Vest while using the Squishy Face Flirt Pole. Both are truly wonderful products and I cannot believe how much of a difference these innovative vests have made to my girl’s lives.

This is quite an expensive pet product if you’re ordering it from the UK but it is certainly worth every single penny in my opinion. It’s hard to see Lily’s muscle definition since she’s covered in fur but I can really tell with Nia how much of a difference it is making to her physique.

What I love about the Xdog Weight and Fitness Vest?

  • It is a great product made using high-quality materials.

The Xdog Weight and Fitness Vest are made from high-quality materials that can test the toughest of pets, my girl Lily is a nightmare for most things as she likes to run along scraping her harness or vests off the walls. Despite this, our vests are still intact and we’ve only had a few loose threads here and there.

  • It provides your pet with a total body workout!!

What more could you ask for than a full body workout?? Using the Xdog Vest alongside feeding a species appropriate diet and supplementing with Creatine and fermented foods has allowed us to get the girls in great shape over the last few months.

One of my favourite things about the Xdog Weight and Fitness Vest is how simple it is, I can turn a mundane boring walk into a little workout without any effort on my behalf.

  • It helps to combat obesity in overweight dogs.

Obesity is a massive issue that is not only affecting us humans but our companion animals too and this is something I hope to help decrease with epoch.pet. I plan to inform pet owners about great products such as the Xdog Weight and Fitness Vest, natural feeding methods and homemade treats, with the hopes that this will help decrease canine and feline obesity in today’s society.

If you would like to learn more about obesity and our pets then check out one of my previous posts, Obesity and our pets, the shocking truth!

  • My girls look great in it!!

Lastly, these weight vests look super stylish in comparison to some of the others on the market and I think Nia and Lily both look stunning in their little vests.
